The Ableton Live Program is your next step up in music production! We help producers understand this innovative program and use the wide range of functions available. The program differs from the workshop as the lessons are one-on-one and students have more time to learn the new concepts. This program is for those who want to expand their knowledge and gain a powerful tool for music production.

What is required to start this program?
  • Basic music production skills
  • Students with knowledge of Cubase, Logic or other similar programs will grasp Ableton quicker

  • Overview of music production
  • Creating beats
  • Music theory
  • Synthesis
  • Audio effects
  • Midi effects
  • Arrangement
  • Automation
  • Mixing and Mastering in Ableton
  • Working on the above elements to create music in Ableton
How do lessons work?
  • 10 lessons, 1 hour each
  • One-one-one lessons in Retro Music studio
Cost: R4000 (R400/lesson)

By the end of the program the student understands the advantages to using Ableton Live for music production. He/she is now less limited in the amount of programs that can be incorporated into their production tools and can start creating complex original tracks.

  • Extra Lessons
Every student learns at a different pace, and some may require extra lessons in order to fully understand the programs they are being taught.
Retro Music offers our students extra lessons to ensure they understand everything about music production:
5 extra lessons, one hour each: R1500
  • Practice Sessions
Practicing new techniques is essential to learning, but many people don’t have their own production studio at home. Each student has 5 hours of practice time to use outside of lessons and so we offer additional studio practice sessions at an exclusive rate for our students for up to 2 weeks after the completion of the program.

5 1 hour studio sessions: R1000

We also offer the services of our studio engineer should you want additional assistance in producing tracks other than what you are working on in the Complete Program.
