Your mixing skills are amazing, but you’re not landing those gigs? You need this program to get noticed in the music industry! We equip you with some of the marketing tools you need to be successful and keep your gig diary full. Work with professional designers and photographers and develop your unique style as a DJ.

Part One: Defining your identity and preparing you with all the tools and methods needed for you to have in place before moving onto Part Two.

Part Two: Creating a marketable brand, meeting music industry professionals and getting a chance to work with them during the program.

  • Defining your identity as a DJ
  • Determining your style and whether you are a possible candidate for a clothing sponsor
  • Understanding the do’s and don’ts of the music industry
  • Income streams available for a DJ
  • Communicating with promoters and club owners
  • Establishing the right contacts needed to reach your goals
  • Following up in an appropriate way once you have submitted your demo
  • How to deal with promoters and club owners
  • Begin to establish several marketing elements
  • Writing and updating your biography
  • Developing a trademark intro and outro to use for your demo CDs
  • Recording a variety of demo CDs in order to capitalize on as many gigs as possible
  • Using networking sites as a marketing tool

  • Launching your brand using various marketing tools
  • How to approach key people in the music industry
  • Meeting with music industry pros and finding out what it’s like to work in this field
  • A key person from a major record label
  • Industry/ party promoter
  • Sound hire and event companies
  • Establishing your style, the way you look and whether it connects with your sound.
  • We put your performance DJ look to the test and make any necessary changes needed
  • Putting together the remaining marketing elements
  • Professional looking clothing and accessory choice
  • Your own personal photo shoot
  • Designing your unique DJ logo
  • Business cards designed and printed professionally


Students will be working with professional designers and photographers who are involved in the music industry. This allows the opportunity to have contacts for future use where a relationship has already been established.


How this program works:


This program is split into two parts; Part One must be completed in order to start Part Two.

Part One: 6 consultation sessions in which to establish your identity and prepare the marketing tools needed for Part Two.
Part Two: 8 consultation sessions to implement the marketing tools from Part One in order to launch your brand successfully.


The DJ Marketing Program plays a great role in the success of our students. Retro Music gives students the confidence to establish themselves as a brand and learn how to market this brand. For most DJs, this is the most difficult part of their career to handle, and therefore this is one of the most important programs we offer.
