The Complete Music Production Program is what you need to make your tracks come true!  Under the instruction of Retro Music’s talented producers we help you draw the music out of your head and into the clubs!      Our recording studio is the ideal place to get creative and learn to produce great tracks of a professional quality.

At Retro Music, we don’t just teach you how to use the following programs, we also teach you how to mix and master your tracks!

Reason 4

• Drum Programming: history of drum machines and how to create a drum loop
• Synthesis: fundamentals of sound design using Reason 4.
• Introduction to MIDI
• Sequencing, structure and arrangement of tracks (and what to do with them)
• Basics of Music Theory: understanding music and keyboards
• Fundamentals of Mixing and Effects
• Integration of Reason 4 and Cubase using Rewire for live performances
• Writing of musical parts
• Assembling and arranging  of tracks
• Improvising with clips that contain bass lines, drums and vocals
• Create original sounds using Cubase
• How to turn your computer into a DJ set up for live performances
• Learn production tips and tricks involved in creating original tracks
• Remixing tracks
• Creating special effects for a track
• Mixing the sounds in your track so they are at the right levels
• Mastering your track

How this Program’s lessons are structured

• There are 40 lessons, 1 hour each.
• The lessons can be taken over a period of 5 months with at least two lessons per week
• We start off with Reason and move onto Cubase, eventually incorporating both programs together to create a track.

Our students finish the program with the understanding that you have to make great tracks rather than just make tracks.  DJs will have another skill to add to their list and boost their careers with their own unique tracks to mix.  With the various programs learnt and a persevering attitude, your newly acquired skills put you on the path to making a lucrative career out of music production!

• Extra Lessons

Every student learns at a different pace, and some may require extra lessons in order to fully understand the programs they are being taught.

Retro Music offers our students extra lessons to ensure they understand everything about music production:

5 extra lessons, one hour each: R1500

• Practice Sessions

Practicing new techniques is essential to learning, but many people don’t have their own production studio at home.  Each student has 5 hours of practice time to use outside of lessons and so we offer additional studio practice sessions at an exclusive rate for our students for up to 2 weeks after the completion of the program.

5 hour studio sessions: R1000

10 hour studio sessions: R1500

We also offer the services of our studio engineer should you want additional assistance in producing tracks other than what you are working on in the Complete Program.
