Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need my own software and hardware?

No. While you need to be able to practice your skills and work on your tracks as much as possible Retro Music understands that not everyone has their own equipment.

This is why we allocate practice sessions in our studio for each student.  Our students may also book extra practice sessions as an add-on to their program so you can use our studio and equipment until you’re ready to buy your own.

2. Do I need to know how to DJ?

No, the Production programs are focused on the creation of music. While many DJs end up becoming producers, an understanding of that field is not necessary for music production.

3. What experience do I need to enroll for one of the programs?

To enroll for the Complete Program, Reason 4 or Cubase Programs no experience is needed. For the workshops, Ableton Live and Mixing and Mastering, you need to have a grasp on the fundamentals of music production.

4. When can I join?

Right now! You book your lessons according to the availability of the studio and your own schedule.

5. How does payment work?

You can pay with cash or cheque, or do an online EFT payment. Students must pay in full before the commencement of any training can take place.

6. What do I need to start?

All we require from our students is passion and determination, your enrollment fees and classes can start. It is advisable to bring a pen and notepad so that notes can be taken.
